4 Steps to Creating a Vision For Your Life

Without a clear vision you can end up caught in your own busy-ness perhaps doing the same unproductive things over and over again. Proverbs 29:18 says 'Where there is no vision, the people perish.'
Whatever it is that you ultimately want for yourself, you have to create the idea of it in your mind first. All thoughts are the seeds to a future that you believe you can have whether positive or negative. So when you say to yourself 'I'm not good enough, smart enough, rich enough, fit enough, slim enough, worthy enough' or whatever your 'enough' is, you are technically saying NO to a greater vision of your future, pushing it further away through your own self-doubts and limiting self beliefs.
Your vision is a precious gift from the Divine. If you are not yet in the presence of your vision, start with what you love. Anything that inspires you, excites you, motivates you in your life is sparked by the Divine.

Here are some of my inner work key tips for building and nurturing the vision of your ultimate life.
1. Let go of the past
Don't base the vision of your future on what has happened in the past because you will end up drawing more of the same situations, experiences and people to you. You cannot grow when you are doing the same things expecting a different result. This the definition of insanity and a way that you can keep yourself stuck.
Let your past go. For example if you were an overweight child or an teenager does not mean you have to settle on being an overweight adult if you want to lose weight and keep it off.
If you want the vision for your life to be bigger and brighter then you are going to have to think of a bigger and brighter vision for your life. Whatever happened in the past, release it, bless it and forgive it and decide that your past is not going to hold your future hostage.
2. Be Still
I have to say that this is the area that many people find the hardest to do (including myself). We all lead such busy lives but it's only by being still can most of the deeper, inner work begin. If five minutes a day is all you have, then that's all you need to get started to sit and be still, allowing your mind and body to connect to your soul space.
Whatever you focus on expands, so spend some time focusing on your ideal life - design your nirvana here on earth. Focus on the positives. How it will make you feel and what will you see around you? Write it down and feel how you would feel if you had those things, situations and people in your life right now. Look at what you have written down every day and say it out loud.
We're really looking at changing your emotional state and moving into a position of positive emotional power, where you are in control of your emotions instead of your emotions controlling you. So affirm your vision by saying out loud 'I am...(fill in the blanks).
Life is a mirror of how you feel inside. That positive feeling state will help you attract the better life you deserve. The process is simple but many give up as it takes perseverance and diligence to stop and take stock of some of the negatives things we can say and do to ourselves. You'll need self-love and self-compassion in order to be present and build the awareness to challenge your own negative self-talk and self sabotage.
Build the vision.

is having sight but no vision'
